our 4th child, amelia grace, was born on august 16, 2012. she was a scheduled c-section and weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.
it was strange knowing when amelia was going to join our family. we planned and prepped and planned and prepped some more. we organized our house. made meals to freeze. had family and maternity pictures taken. i never had maternity pictures done with any of my kids. i figured if this is my last pregnancy, i would like to get pictures taken and really try to remember the joys of having a life growing inside of me. my good friend andi asbjornsen of andi mae photography took our pictures and we are so happy with them. here are a few and there are more to come!
erik and i woke up with enough time to be at the hospital at 545 am for our appointment. the morning came and we were off to have our baby girl.
it was a little intimidating to be having a c-section again when the only other experience i've had was with ella. i knew it would be different, but the emergency c-section was always in the back of my mind and i was worried it would flood my thoughts with anxiety. erik and i did a lot of reassuring each other. we both had moments when we were alone during the birth of amelia where we would panic and then remind ourselves that God is in control and then we willingly handed amelia over to Him to take or to gift us with.
He has gifted amelia to us for almost a whole week now and we are all so in love with her. we almost can't stand how cute she is. just see for yourself!
